Some important symptoms of sleep deprivation are

• Frequent yawning
• Dozing off while doing some physically inactive thing, e.g. reading
• Grogginess early when waking up and almost all day
• Easily irritable mood
• Poor concentration

For better sleep on regular basis, you should

• Try to go to bed at regular time every night
• Do regular exercise especially every morning.
• Never drink coffee/alcohol nor smoke from the evening especially near bedtime.
• Improve your sleeping environment in any way you can - for example, wear earplugs if you have noisy neighbours.
• Adjust room temperature of your bed as to your convenience
• Keep your bedroom dark enough to facilitate sleep
• Seek professional assistance for sleep disorders such as snoring.
